"Things That Made Us Go Hmmm...." is a "proper" megademo. It has a real, working menu and everything.

The intro screen is a fullscreen "plasma" fractal, with lurid rainbow colour cycling. Text appears over the top in a teletype style, and is written in Ian's "Judge Dredd" font. There's no music. Chris made the fractal with "Fractint", on his dad's 286.

The main menu features a whole load of Doc points, which can be changed with the keyboard. There's also a "random fade" message in the lower border, using Ian's "Nirvana" font.
Demos are selected by rolling round a barrel-scrolling text banner, which contains some credits, and the names of the demos.
When you select a demo, an intro screen is displayed while the demo screen loads.
After each demo completes, a Red Hot Chili Peppers style mutant Smiley appears while the main menu reloads.
"Frood" is a 3 plane parallax scrolling background mad up of the letters T, W, and M. The back plane (the 'M's) also distorts. There's a bouncy crystal scroller as well.
Once again, the code was by Chris, the graphics were by Ian, and the music was by Mad Max of TEX.
This screen has a 13-layer fullscreen parallax scrolling floor, with a vector man walking along it. Every now and again a vector bird flies overhead. There's a "random fade" message at the top. We used palette switching and interlacing to give a smooth (if a bit flickery) fade through 15 shades of blue in the sky (the ST only actually has 8 shades of pure blue).
The code was written by Chris. The vector bird was drawn by Chris. The man was ripped from the "Hit Fido" demo on the Amiga. The Floor was drawn by Zogg. The Font was by Ian. The music was by Mad Max.
This demo takes its name from a picture Ian drew on an Amstrad CPC in 1987 (an updated version of the picture makes up the intro screen). The demo is just a big scroller (we removed the bottom border), with a logo bouncing around over the top.
Yet again the code was by Chris and the Graphics were by Ian. The music was, you guessed it, by Mad Max of TEX.
"The Joy Of Sex" is a pretty 3d vectors demo, with a few different shapes flying around a starfield. The vectors are drawn in white with different coloured outlines to give a glowing effect.
At the bottom of the screen, you can see Ian and Chris looking up at what's going on in the sky... Ian is tall and skinny, and Chris is short and fat. The strange quote "Not much buzzing... good!" is from Chris's guitar book.
You had to be there, really.
The Fifth Screen is a real 3d starfield that just kind of drifts merrily about.
On top of the stars are presented some greetings to all the Watchmen's friends on the ST demo coding scene.
The code (yawn) was by Chris, and the font was by Ian. The music was by
Mad Max of TEX.
